Karen Hegerle is organizing the volunteers, so you may contact her directly at Karen_Hegerle@pvusd.net or send me an e-mail and I will forward your information to her. The shifts last for about an hour, and are being scheduled throughout the day. If you are available on Thursday, please specify which times you are available. Thank you! Add Comment Final Weekend for Science Fair Projects! 01/27/2012
The written reports were all returned today, so students will need to revise the reports over the weekend. Today we discussed the display boards and the speeches (information for both is in the pink packet), and we will talk more on Monday. We created graphs at school, but I wasn't able to print everyone's today. I will print the remaining graphs on Monday. Everything is due on Tuesday, 1/31. Have a great weekend! -Mrs. Z Spelling Bee Congratulations! 01/26/2012
Congrats to two of our fabulous students, Kourosh and Jackson! Jackson earned 4th place out of all 4th-6th grade participants, and Kourosh will be one of the 2 students representing our school at the County Spelling Bee next month! Congratulations to both boys, and we wish Kourosh good luck at County!!! :) Project Graphs 01/24/2012
Tomorrow (Wednesday) the students will be having a tutorial with Mr. Kyle on how to create a graph of their data in Excel. Thursday I will be making graphs with them in the lab and printing them in color for use on the display boards and final reports. All students should bring their experiment data to school so they can make a graph. :) Mrs. Z Sci. Fair Written Report Rough Drafts 01/23/2012

Here is what our next few weeks will look like... Math: Begin Chapter 4, Ratios and Proportions Reading: Begin reading Freak the Mighty Writing: Begin our largest story-writing project of the year! Science: Continue our in-class "mock" Science Fair project, and talk about each step of the at-home written report (see Science Fair page and student packet for due dates and more specifics!) Also, Progress Reports will be coming home in about 3 weeks! ~Mrs. Z Have a Wonderful Break!!! 12/16/2011
I am so incredibly thankful for my students and their families this holiday season! Thank you for contributing to our yummy potluck, and thank you for all the fantastic gifts; you are so generous and I am very appreciative! I hope you are able to have a relaxing and enjoyable break with your fabulous children... I know I will savor the time off with my loved ones. Happy Holidays, and see you in January! ~Mrs. Z O'Neill Sea Odyssey Tomorrow! 12/12/2011
Tomorrow we will be heading to the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor for the O'Neill Sea Odyssey field trip! We will leave as soon as everyone arrives in the morning, so please help your child be on time. All students should be sure to have the following things: a bag lunch to eat on the beach, long pants, sturdy shoes, and a warm jacket. We will be out at sea aboard the Team O'Neill catamaran, so I highly recommend your child has several layers under the jacket, a hat and even gloves as it will almost certainly be VERY cold on the boat. See you tomorrow! -Mrs. Z | LINKS
