Thank you... 11/20/2009

...for my wonderful surprise party this morning!  (I knew something was up when I approached the classroom with the blinds down and no kids out front!) It really was special because I've never had a surprise party before!  The birthday cake was beautiful and the earrings are gorgeous.  I'm quite impressed that our kids raised enough money on their own to buy gold earrings!

Thank you those of you that helped organize this surprise without me knowing... I really was surprised!  :)

I hope you all have a FANTASTIC break, and a lovely holiday!  I have so much to be thankful for, including my terrific students.  See you November 30th!

Pictures! 11/19/2009

If anyone has pictures they'd like me to put on our website, e-mail them to me and I can add them!

Also, field trip drivers, I would love to add some of your photos to the site (especially the group shots). I only got a few...  Thanks!

With the large numbers of absent students that we've had, it is crucial that each child takes the responsibility of turning in his or her work upon returning to class.  Students do not need to check with me; they just place it in the Turn-In Bin by the door.

They also need to check this website and/or our in-class homework board for their missed homework.  Please help remind your child of these things. Thank you!!!

Another 8 kids out sick today... poor things!  Those that are here have been coughing and sniffling; please remind them to wash their hands and get lots of sleep!  Stay healthy!

Fun field trip! 11/16/2009

WOW... what an amazing opportunity our kids had today! It was truly breathtaking to be inches away from the very items used by King Tutankhamun himself!  Incredible!

There were many school groups there, so there was quite a back-up entering the exhibit.  Unfortunately that meant we were late getting back to Rio, so I'm so grateful to everyone for rearranging their schedules in order to pick up the kids late!  And THANKS go out to SHEILA HURLEY for speed-dialing all the parents! As the kids would say... you rock!!!

Who else "rocks"?  Our drivers!  Thank you, Greg, Cheryl, Kirsten, Mike, Susan, Melinda, and Donna for spending your day (and gas)!  It was quite far and we appreciate it!

See you tomorrow! :) Mrs. Z

Report cards are coming home today! Please sign the bottom of the envelope and return to me (you keep the contents).  Thank you!

Your children did a wonderful job on their speeches! We did them marathon-style, and finished in ONE DAY! Our fantastic set-up and clean-up crews helped make our transitions quick and efficient.

Great job, everyone!
